This is the famous battle cry of Kamehameha the Great before the battle of ‘Iao Valley, Maui. It is the opening line of a legendary rallying cry from King Kamehameha I, who unified the Hawaiian Islands, and is used today as a powerful motivational phrase.

Today, the rallying cry represents resilience, determination, and unity in the face of adversity.

Translation: “Go forward my young brothers and sisters, and drink from the bitter waters (of battle). There is no turning back (until victory is secured).
